I am a founding member of The Artworks,
and I create my quilted wall hangings, mug mats, placemats, hand-smocked
children's dresses and christening dresses, and Victorian garments
exclusively for the shop or special order.
Although I have lived in Hawaii,
Washington, D.C., the Phillippine Islands, and several states, I am a
native of the Old Forge area and have lived here for the last 30 years.
I am a mother of three and grandmother of seven. When not traveling,
often to visit them, I work at my craft full time.
I learned my basic craft as a Fashion
and Merchandising major at RIT but developed additional skills mostly by
"hands-on" experience for over forty years. I have also attended
many workshops with top designers in my field, and I read everything
available that relates to my art form.
Three of my success "secrets" are: to
use the very best supplies available, to keep organized, and to strive
constantly to develop new designs and techniques.
I love my art form and believe that I
put much care and love into each item that I create.
