Frank Vellone  

I started woodworking at an early age drawing inspiration from the forest around our Adirondack camp.  There, I would spend many hours in my father’s shop creating many things out of wood.  Later, while living in New England, I was exposed to many furniture styles, most notably Shaker furniture, widely admired for its timeless designs, clean lines, functionality and solid joinery.  I always strive to incorporate this same quality into my own work. 

I have been selling my work for over twenty years in gift shops around New England and the Adirondacks, and more recently The Artworks here in Old Forge. 

I also build custom furniture and cabinetry using native hardwoods such as cherry, maple and ash.  I always take the extra time to hand-select wood in order to match grain and color to complement the design of each piece. 

My goal has always been to build something that will be enjoyed and valued today, and hopefully treasured as an antique tomorrow.
